Stuck. Stuck in a No-Man’s Land. That is where many young men find themselves following moral and spiritual failure. You love God, but the question always looms in your mind, “what about my past?”
The past, as we like to refer to it, seems to be present, always with us. We try and distance ourselves from our past, but the footsteps of the enemy along with his cruel accusations can be heard behind us, pursuing us, desperate to capture us and to confine us.
The future lies before you, beyond the fences, but it is now home to those who are stronger than you. Those who may have received more guidance than you did, had a mentor or a strong voice in their life, guiding them away from failure.
The fear in moving out of No-Man’s Land, is that you are often light years behind your peers. Some welcome you forward, while others let you know, through unspoken terms, “You are not welcome over here!” So you set up camp in, No-Man’s land, while the tick tock of time, marches on, waiting for no one.
My desire, in writing this book, is not to share all of the gory details of my past sins, but somehow speak to the consequences of sin, and where sin can leave you.
I have experienced No-Man’s Land first hand, and give thanks to God for His marvelous mercy, and for bringing me out.
Having had the privilege of serving in different areas of Ministry for the past 25 years, I have seen more than one young man, after moral and spiritual failure, watch as their God given gifts and talents slip away. Because of shame, condemnation and often because of a lack of understanding of God’s love and grace, some become victims of No-Man’s Land. Not all prodigals make it back home.
I have had the privilege of helping some young men, get out, and escape No-Man’s Land. My true passion and desire is to help you, reader, understand that failure is not final, and that there is a useful place for you in the Kingdom of God.
You can get out! I do not believe it is the will of God for you to remain in a perpetual state of inactivity and condemnation.
My prayer is that the contents of this book will help you as a young man, not only avoid the pitfalls that the enemy has set up to trap and destroy you, but give you the courage to move out of No-Man’s Land, and into the land of undiscovered opportunity that God has waiting for you!
