Helpful Resources For Self-Publishers

At 48 Hour Books, we understand that editing is an important step in the self-publishing process.

Editing is a crucial step in publishing a book. A lot of new writers and self-publishers make the mistake of getting their books printed without having their work professionally edited. This ends up hurting you in the long run, because as much as we want to take pride in our writing abilities, another set of eyes can catch mistakes that we overlook. Having someone review your work can make the difference between a flawless file and one with mistakes you’ll wish you had caught.

This page serves as a resource to help you navigate your editing needs. Editing services can run the gamut – from standard proofreading to more in-depth services such as manuscript evaluation or developmental editing of plot and characters. Visit our blog for more editing tips and information.

Some things to keep in mind:
  1. All editing and proofreading should take place prior to uploading your files to 48 Hour Books. We do provide PDF proofs for final review and approval before printing, but to save yourself extra time and money, all of your edits should be completed before this step.
  2. All editing correspondence and payment should take place directly between you and the editor. 48 Hour Books is not affiliated with the editors listed on this page.
  3. For information on rates, timetables, and services please refer to the editor websites listed below.
